Kia ora tātou,
At the end of this week we have our mid-term break which means Moanataiari School will be closed from Friday 26th August to Monday 29th August. School will resume on Tuesday 30th August. We hope you all take this opportunity to spend some family time together and refresh, ready for the rest of the term.
Kia ora tātou,
Please remember that our school, and all primary schools in Thames, will be closed next Monday 22nd August for a teacher only day while the teachers attend professional development.
Kia ora tātou,
Many thanks to those parents and staff members who have put their names forward for our upcoming Board of Trustees election. We have received 7 parent nominations to fill the 5 seats available so we will need to hold an election. Voting forms will be sent home this Wednesday. Voting closes on Wednesday 7th September at 4pm.
Kia ora tātou,
There is a lot of illness around at the moment along with Covid cases. If your child is unwell, please keep them home to rest and recover. You will need to inform us of their absence and this can be done either by phone, text (021 026 34461), Skool Loop, email, or via our website.

Welcome back everyone, and a special welcome to our new students: Te Koha Stockman who re-joins us in Room 6, and to Rita and Anne Quinn and Lylah Challis who have joined us in Room 4 and started their school lives today. It’s great to have you all in our Moanataiari School family.
Kia ora tātou,
Another busy term is nearly over. Many thanks to everyone who has organised and assisted with various outings and events for the benefit of our students, your help is very much appreciated.
Kia ora tātou,
We had a lovely afternoon last Thursday celebrating Matariki by sharing soup and buns, then flying kites in the sunshine. Many thanks to Room 7 for making the tasty soup.

Our four teams had a sensational day of Rippa Rugby on Wednesday last week in Ngatea. All teams steadily improved throughout the day and we saw great sportsmanship displayed. A huge thank you to all those that helped transport our 42 players and an even bigger thank you to Ngaio Hodson for managing the Year 7 & 8 Boys Team, Jess Morgan for managing the Year 7 & 8 Girls Team, Lisa Dsouza for managing the Year 5 & 6 Boys Team and Mel Krishna for managing the Year 5 & 6 Girls Team.

Welcome to Amalia Te Ruki and Jakob Reiner who have joined Room 4 and started their school lives with us. It’s great to have you both in our Moanataiari School family.
