Regular attendance is essential for student success and well-being. In line with the Government’s Attendance Action Plan and the Ministry of Education’s Stepped Attendance Response (STAR) framework, we share our strategies to support student attendance.
Our plan outlines how we monitor attendance, set targets, and work with whānau to overcome barriers to learning.
The Moanataiari School Parent and Teachers Association (PTA) is a dedicated group of parents who work together to support our school through fundraising and community events. The funds raised help provide valuable additional resources and opportunities for our tamariki.
Throughout the year, the PTA organises a variety of fun and family-friendly initiatives, such as raffles, sausage sizzles, discos, balls, movie nights, bingo evenings, stalls, and mufti days.
In 2025, we were proud to host Light Up Thames, a brand-new community event held at Rhodes Park. The evening featured a range of stalls and an incredible fireworks display, bringing together families from our local area and beyond for a memorable night out. Due to its success, we are excited to be planning this event again in 2026.
If you would like to get involved or find out more, please contact the school office on 868 6504. We would love to welcome you to the PTA.
The school handbook is designed to outline key areas of Moanataiari School and how we do things.
Parents/Caregivers are responsible for purchasing stationery. At the end of the year a list is sent home for next year’s stationery which outlines all the required items. Please ensure students always have the correct equipment.
Stationery lists for the year can also be found here.
It is important that we know of any problems your child may have and you are asked to supply relevant information at the enrolment.
Learning conversations with your child’s teacher are offered at the end of Terms 2 and 4 each year. This is an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in all areas.
