Attendance at our School

The New Zealand Government has launched a national Attendance Action Plan to ensure 80% of students attend school regularly (for more than 90% of the term) by 2030. As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Education has introduced the Stepped Attendance Response (STAR) framework. This system provides a consistent, nationwide approach to identifying and supporting students at different stages of absence, ensuring that attendance barriers are addressed early.

Our Attendance Management Plan

In alignment with these national requirements, Moanataiari School has developed a comprehensive plan that outlines our school-specific attendance targets, monitoring processes and the supportive actions we take at each attendance threshold.
