Kia ora koutou,
We hope you all had a restful long weekend and a chance to spend time together as whānau over ANZAC weekend. We welcome all our tamariki back to school today and are getting into a full week of learning and connection.
This week is a busy one across the kura. Our senior students today have their Technology sessions at Thames High School, our Year 5–8 tamariki are taking part in EPro8 challenges at Pārāwai, and the winter netball season gets underway this Thursday. These opportunities are important, as they build confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in real contexts.
We are also continuing to focus on regular attendance. Being at school every day supports learning, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging. As the term settles in, this is a great time to reinforce routines and ensure tamariki are ready and present each day. Our provisional Term one regular attendance figures sit at 74%. This is good, keep it up. On Friday, we celebrated attendance with an ice block, and this coming Friday, there will be another treat in store for all the kids who are here.
As always, our values guide us. We encourage our students to show Manawaroa (resilience) as they take on new challenges, and Whakaute (respect) in how they work and play together.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Working together makes a real difference for our tamariki.
Ngā mihi nui,
David Brock
Principal
