Tēnā koutou katoa e te whānau,

As we enter the final week of Term 1, I want to acknowledge the wonderful people who make our kura such a special place.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Peggy Morrison for her invaluable help in the office this term. She has been absolutely wonderful! It is not a final goodbye, however, as Peggy remains with us in class on Wednesdays. We also want to thank Whaea Karen for being an amazing kaiako for Room 2 this term. The students will certainly miss you, though I am sure we will still see your friendly face around the school. A further thank you to Brian for driving the van this term—your dedication to those early morning runs and the gift of your time are much appreciated by us all.

To all our wonderful staff and volunteers at Moanataiari School, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your incredible dedication throughout Term 1. Whether you have been multitasking in the office, inspiring our ākonga in the classroom, or supporting our school on the grounds and on the sidelines, your hard work has not gone unnoticed. It is your collective energy, professionalism, and care that make our kura such a welcoming place to learn and work. Please take this upcoming break to rest and recharge—you have truly earned it!

Looking ahead to Term 2, we want to wish Mrs Pooley a wonderful and relaxing refreshment leave. We look forward to seeing her back later in the year. In the meantime, we welcome Mrs Dines into Room 3 (Kuranui).

I wish you all an amazing break. If you are travelling over the holidays, please stay safe on the roads. The term finishes this Thursday, 2nd April. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, 20 April 2026, for the first day of Term 2, where we will also welcome Mr Brock back from his sabbatical.
