Message from the Principal
Tēnā koutou katoa e te whānau,
As we head into the final two weeks of the school term, the energy at Moanataiari School remains high despite the autumn chill in the mornings. It is a busy and exciting time for our kura, and I am constantly impressed by the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our ākonga.
This week, we are particularly focused on building connections beyond our gates. On Thursday, 26 March, Ms Trenwith and Mrs Nankivell are taking some senior students to Kopuarahi School to explore their gardens. We are very grateful to Kopuarahi School for hosting us, and we look forward to hearing about the new ideas our students bring back to enhance our own environment.
I also want to acknowledge the vital role you play in our community. Whether it is attending parent interviews or supporting our upcoming fundraisers, your involvement is what makes our school thrive. Once again, a big thank you to the people who enrich our school with their time, skills, and energy. You are so appreciated!
Nāku iti noa, nā,
Pam Kruger
Acting Principal
Important Updates
-
Room 3 (Kuranui) Parent/Teacher Interviews: These will be held this Thursday, 26 March, starting from 1:30 p.m. Please note: Parents and caregivers of Room 3 students are asked to collect their children promptly at 1:00 p.m.
-
Go Green for Mitey: This Friday, 27 March, is a significant day for our school as we support Mitey—an initiative by the Sir John Kirwan Foundation. Mitey provides a research-based approach to mental health education for New Zealand primary and intermediate schools and we are proud to be a Mitey School. By dressing up in green and bringing a gold coin donation, we help ensure our tamariki have the tools they need to build resilience and mental wellbeing.
Moanataiari School Summer Disco: Get your brightest outfits ready! Our school disco is this Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. While younger siblings are welcome, we require parents and caregivers of students in Years 1–4 to stay with their child. There will be prizes for best-dressed and best dancer!
