Monday 25th May 2026

Kia ora koutou,

We have another busy couple of weeks ahead at Moanataiari School, with many opportunities for our tamariki to learn, participate, and represent our kura.

As we move through these two shorter weeks, we wanted to let whānau know that there will be no newsletter next week due to the King’s Birthday holiday and the shortened teaching weeks.

Please note that there will be no school van service tomorrow (Tuesday, 26 May), as students and staff will be attending NYLD in Hamilton. Thank you for your understanding and support with transport arrangements.

On Tuesday, Year 8 students will attend NYLD in Hamilton, while our Year 7 students also continue their Technology programme at Thames High School. Year 8 students not going to the National Young Leaders day do need to attend school.

On Wednesday, students participating in Gymfest will take part in the competition during the morning.

Thursday will see our Attendance Incentive ice creams. We appreciate the efforts our tamariki and whānau are making to support regular school attendance. Our attendance year to date is sitting at 76% for regular attendance which is something to be pleased with.

Friday, 29 May, is the MOE Curriculum Release Day. This mean the school is closed for instruction as teachers focus on developing the new curriculum.

A reminder that school will also be closed on Monday, 1 June, for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Our next full school assembly will be held on Friday, 5 June at 2:15 pm.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our kura and the many ways you work alongside us to support our learners.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and relaxing long weekend with whānau and friends.

Ngā mihi nui,

David Brock
