Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Welcome to our Week 5 newsletter for Term 3. It is an incredibly vibrant and busy time around our kura at the moment as our production practices are well underway—a creative energy that will continue to buzz across all classrooms throughout the remainder of the term. Many of you may have already heard your children enthusiastically singing catchy tunes at home as they learn their parts and perfect their performances.
A production of this scale requires immense coordination, and I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ms Trenwith for her outstanding leadership and dedication in driving this school production forward. We are incredibly grateful for her vision and hard work.
As we prepare for the big stage, a quick reminder that letters have gone home to classes requesting specific clothing for the production. Please send these items to school in a clearly labelled bag. We also recommend labelling each item of clothing to ensure nothing gets misplaced in the excitement. Wonderful times are ahead, and we cannot wait to see our students shine.
Looking ahead to this week, we are delighted to invite all of our new families to our Whakatau on Thursday, 20 August at 1:30 pm. This is a beautiful opportunity for us to formally welcome you into our school whānau. As the winter weather lingers, the forecast is predicting quite chilly temperatures. Please ensure that all students and visitors are dressed warmly for the occasion.
Finally, a reminder regarding our upcoming mid-term break:
- Friday, 21 August: School is closed for students. Our teachers will be onsite engaging in Professional Mathematics Development, allowing our tamariki to spend an extended weekend with their families.
- Monday, 24 August: School remains closed as part of our scheduled mid-term break.
We deliberately organised this break to allow our whānau some quality time together during a term that contains no public holidays. We hope you all have a fantastic, restful break with your family. Stay warm, travel safely, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed for the busy weeks ahead.
