He Mihi Mahana ki a Koutou
Dear Whānau,
As we approach the end of Term 1, I would like to thank our ākonga and whānau for the energy and support you bring to our kura. It has been a truly busy and productive time for everyone.
We recently celebrated a wonderful day at the Hockey Big Day Out on Wednesday, 11 March. It was fantastic to see students from across the school participating with such enthusiasm. A very big thank you to our teachers for organising the day, and to the parents and caregivers who supported us by transporting students, managing teams, and coaching. Your contribution is the heart of our community spirit.
Safety and Reminders
School Sports Shirts: Please return these to school by Tuesday at the latest.
Te Rerenga Kōrero: I encourage everyone to watch our latest video clips. You can find the links to watch these within the interactive articles of this Hail newsletter. A huge thank you to Matua Clay for providing these wonderful short explanations to help us all with our kōrero.
To ensure the continued safety of our children during school trips and daily activities, please keep the following in mind:
Vehicle Safety: A friendly reminder that children under 148 cm tall are legally required to be in a booster seat.
Transport Requirements: If your child requires transport to an event, please send their booster seat to school with them. We prioritise our students' safety and cannot allow them to travel without appropriate seating.
Community News and Upcoming Events
Staff Achievement: Our caretaker, David, was away recently to compete in the NZ Bowls finals. We are all very excited to hear how he has progressed!
Thames Valley Swimming: Best of luck to all our students competing this Friday. We are cheering for you and hoping for beautiful weather.
Go Green for Mitey: On Friday, 27 March, we invite everyone to "Go Green." Please come dressed in green with a gold coin donation to support the Mitey programme.
Room 3 Conferences: Room 3 Parent-teacher conferences will be held during Week 9.
A Special Thank You
I once again wish to thank all the amazing volunteers who come in and gift their time, energy, and skills to our ākonga. Whether helping with sports or supporting classroom and school initiatives, your dedication makes these experiences possible and enriches our entire school community.
Enjoy the week ahead.
Ngā mihi nui,
Pam Kruger (Acting Principal)
