The School Moanataiari is a state full primary school situated at the North-Western end of Thames. The school site was formed by reclaiming from the sea, land on which the tailings from the old gold mine shafts were dumped. Our school was formed by the closure of three Thames schools, Thames North, Thames Central and Kopu schools. The school was officially opened by the Hon. H.L. Pickering, Minister of Education on the 27th of May 1972.
Our school will aim to prepare all children for life through high quality learning opportunities by teachers with community support.
To encourage life long learning, by providing a well rounded education that enables children to be independent and to be adaptable to an ever changing world environment.
We value: Honesty, Respect, Confidence, Independence, Self-esteem, Life-long learning and the ability to deal with change
